Suffolk Foundation Awards $149,350

In 2022 the Suffolk Foundation was honored to award $149,350 in Community Impact Grants to 32 nonprofit organizations serving Suffolk and Western Tidewater. This is thanks to hundreds of local donors who contribute to the Suffolk Foundation’s unrestricted grant funds or who become Friends of the Foundation.

Here’s the list of our 2022 Community Impact Grants:

  • Access College Fund: $4,000
  • American Red Cross of Coastal Virginia: $5,000
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia: $3,500
  • CHKD Child Advocacy Center: $8,000
  • Coalition Against Poverty in Suffolk: $6,000
  • Communities in Schools of Hampton Roads: $1,000
  • Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia & Eastern Shore: $5,000
  • ForKids: $7,500
  • The Genieve Shelter: $2,500
  • Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast: $4,000
  • The Links Foundation: $2,000
  • Meals on Wheels of Suffolk and Isle of Wight: $10,000
  • Nansemond River Preservation Alliance: $10,000 (funded by grants from the Richard F. III and Carolyn Barry Donor-Advised Fund & the Dwight and Jane Schaubach Donor-Advised Fund)
  • Nansemond-Suffolk Academy: $4,000
  • Riddicks Folly House Museum: $1,500
  • The Salvation Army of Suffolk: $8,000
  • Senior Services of Southeast Virginia: $4,000
  • Solomon’s Porch: $1,500
  • Suffolk Art League: $2,700
  • Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts: $8,000
  • Suffolk Cheer Fund: $2,500
  • Suffolk Education Foundation: $1,400
  • Suffolk Family YMCA: $5,000
  • Suffolk Literacy Council: $1,500
  • Suffolk-Nansemond Historical Society: $2,500
  • Tidewater Arts Outreach: $750

Interested in applying for a grant? Please read our grant guidelines first. Then, the online application opens on September 1 each year. Applications must be submitted online by 3pm of October 15 each year. If October 15 falls on a weekend, the application is due on the last business day prior to October 15.
