FRIENDS OF THE FOUNDATION
With so many important and worthy nonprofits in Suffolk and Western Tidewater, and so many critical needs, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. If you want to help, where do you even start?
What if there were a local hub for all community nonprofits—a fund that could help our entire local charitable sector? A trusted fund that vetted local charities, awarding grants for the most urgent causes and most promising opportunities. A local fund that you could support, knowing your gifts would help our entire community.
That’s the purpose of the Friends of the Foundation, and our Community Impact Fund.
The Friends of the Foundation started in 2017 to support and build the Suffolk Foundation. Today, every penny contributed by our Friends goes to our Community Impact Fund, our largest general grant-making fund, which supports dozens of local nonprofits each year. And, the Community Impact Fund is a perpetual endowment, which means it’ll remain invested for growth for generations to come.
