Suffolk Business Women’s Scholarship
This scholarship was started by the Suffolk Business Women, a 501(c)3 civic organization whose mission is to empower professional business women in Suffolk, Virginia to become actively involved in the enrichment of the community through volunteerism and charitable acts. The goal of the scholarship is to further the education of young women and to support promising students from Suffolk.
Award Criteria
To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant must:
- Be a female, a United States citizen, and a resident of Suffolk.
- Plan to enroll full-time in a degree program in the fall at an accredited college or university.
- Be a high school senior.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Have participated in school and/or community activities, or have held a job.
- Have a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Submit an essay of 500 – 600 words on the following topic: Choose a female leader who inspires you and write an essay on why you admire her leadership qualities.
Application, Deadline, and Submission Instructions
The Suffolk Business Women’s Scholarship utilizes the Suffolk Foundation’s common scholarship application form, which opens online on February 10, 2025. The application must be submitted online before the deadline of 11:59 pm, March 21, 2025. For more information, contact the Foundation staff at office@suffolkfoundation.
