DiStasio Health Professions Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the DiStasio family to help local students pursue an education and career in medicine.
Scholarship Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must:
- Be a resident of Suffolk, Isle of Wight County, Franklin, or Southampton County.
- Be a senior at a public, private, or home school in Suffolk, Isle of Wight, Franklin, or Southampton.
- Plan to enroll full-time in the fall in a four-year college program in nursing, pre-med, or related, with the intent of pursing an MD, DO, NP, or PA program after college (doctor of medicine, doctor of osteopathic medicine, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant).
- Have participated in school and/or community activities, or have held a job.
- Have a weighted cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better.
Application, Deadline, and Submission Instructions
The DiStasio Health Professions Scholarship utilizes the Suffolk Foundation’s common scholarship application form, which opens online each year in February and has a deadline each year in March.
