When Juan Lascano first learned to play a recorder in elementary school, he could not have known the doors that music would open for him. Now an assistant principal at the Charlotte Learning Academy, a public charter school in Charlotte, North Carolina, Juan, aka J. Bosco, is also a budding music producer. He credits The Suffolk Foundation’s scholarship he received in 2008 with facilitating his academic career at Norfolk State University.
With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Norfolk State and a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Secondary Studies from Johns Hopkins University, Juan is now completing a graduate certificate in School Leadership from the same institution – and still making music.
“Thank you, Suffolk Foundation,” he said. “For providing a resource which students of Suffolk Public Schools can take advantage of to assist them as they move closer towards their college and career aspirations.”
