Louis & Mary Haddad Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the Louis and Mary Haddad Foundation to support local students with learning differences.
To be considered for this scholarship, the applicant must:
- Be a resident of Suffolk, Virginia.
- Provide documentation of a learning difference (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD). Documentation can include an IEP, 504 plan, letter from a doctor or clinician, or test results.
- Plan to enroll in an accredited college, university, or trade school in the fall.
- Be a graduating senior from a public, private, or home school in Suffolk.
- Have participated in school and/or community activities, or have held a job.
- Have a cumulative weighted GPA of 2.5 or better.
- Submit an essay of up to 350 words on the following: “Explain how your learning difference affected your ability to focus on your education, how you overcame that challenge, and what you plan for your education and career over the next few years.”

The Louis and Mary Haddad Foundation Scholarship utilizes the Suffolk Foundation’s common scholarship application form, which opens online in February 2026.
