Suffolk, VA, September 6, 2024 — The Suffolk Foundation is excited to announce two grant opportunities for nonprofits this fall.
First, the Suffolk Foundation’s Community Impact Grants Program is now accepting applications. This program has broad goals of benefiting residents of Suffolk and Western Tidewater, and can support any number of worthy causes, including health, education, the arts, human needs, history, animal welfare, and the environment. The proposed program must be located in, and serve residents of, Suffolk, Franklin, Southampton County, or Isle of Wight County, and the applicant must be a nonprofit 501(c)3 public charity.
Grant guidelines, plus the link to the online application form, are on the foundation’s website: www.suffolkfoundation.org/grants. The deadline to apply is October 15. Nonprofits are urged to call the foundation prior to starting an application, especially if that organization has not received a grant from the foundation in the past year, or if the organization plans to request a significant increase in funding.
In addition, the Suffolk Foundation is now managing the grants program for the Suffolk-based Community Action Coalition of Virginia (CACOV). Past CACOV grantees can apply for a 2024 CACOV grant by completing the same online application form. For more information, and for the link to apply, see www.suffolkfoundation.org/grants.
Last year, the Suffolk Foundation awarded $148,750 in Community Impact Grants to 35 nonprofits, and more than $800,000 across all of its grants and scholarship programs in 2023. This is thanks to hundreds of local donors who contribute to the Suffolk Foundation’s grant fund. Many families and businesses start charitable funds of their own through the Suffolk Foundation.
